Chilli-Lime Shrimps in arugula cup

I had such a busy weekend that I spent all of yesterday sleeping and trying to recuperate! This recipe was supposed to be up since Sunday but alas! Today’s recipe is something I came up with for my appetizer menu for an event that I should be doing this fall. Its a nice refreshing idea with seafood and a Cameroon pepper aioli that I made at home. I will put up the recipe for the aioli in a few days! For now you can use any regular mayonnaise or you can use any creamy sauce that you like.

Shrimps and arugula in a wonton cup.


  • 20 pieces shrimps (Tiger shrimps or any big shrimps are better as I came to learn)
  • 1 Zest lime
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 20 pieces wonton wraps
  • handful arugula
  • Homemade Cameroon pepper aioli


Step 1 In a pan add 3 tablespoons oil. Add the shrimps, lime zest and chili flakes. add salt and pepper to taste and stir together.. Cook for 3 minutes on each side or until shrimps are pink.
Step 2 In a oiled cupcake baking tray, add wonton wraps to each circle. Place in oven for 7 minutes to bake.
Step 3 Add arugula, half a tablespoon of Cameroon pepper aioli or regular mayonnaise. Add Arugula and shrimps and serve immediately.

  2. Looks delicious but the plural of shrimp is shrimp. Not Shrimps.
