These french toast are perfect for valentines day.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 Small eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
  • eggs (These are for the sunny side up eggs.)
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1 Add the eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla essence into a bowl and beat until properly combined.
Step 2 Place the bread inside the bowl one at a time. Place for about secs so it does not get soggy
Step 3 Place a frying pan on the gas and turn on heat to medium-high. Place a knob of butter in the pan and let it get hot.
Step 4 If you want to make a heart in the bread , using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut through the bread and place the heart aside.
Step 5 Place the bread in the pan and brown on both sides for about 5 minutes or until it is a golden brown. Repeat the steps with all the bread.
Step 6 In the same pan, Place the heart shaped cookie cutter in the middle. (coat it with butter/oil so the egg does not stick to it) Break the egg right inside the cookie cutter and season with salt and black pepper.
Step 7 Using some tongs, remove cookie cutter after about 5 minutes and carefully remove the eggs. Continue with all the eggs.
Step 8 Place the egg on a plate, insert the french toast and place the other heart on the side. serve with some orange juice. Best Breakfast in bed ever!

  1. Nice twist to the usual french toast and I also love breakfast food anytime of the day 😀

  2. I would recommend using Texas Toast bread if available cos it’s thick and soft, makes French toast even better.
