I missed blogging about food! While I took a break from blogging, I cooked all the time and I would always want to take a few minutes to grab my camera and capture a new recipe for my lovely readers but I was on a journey to enjoy the everyday moments in my new life that I had to find a way to push away that urge to always capture food. After a few months however, the urge won and I had to resort to one of my first love, cooking and documenting food! I am so excited to bring this recipe to you.

A few months ago I saw one of my food mentors cook this on snapchat (are you following me? My username is @Lohio) and then youtube! I had to try it! It was like fate really wanted me to try it because a few days later, I was in Houston, Texas and we decided to go to cheesecake factory for dinner and I remembered Resha mentioned that theirs was one of the best she had tasted. I ordered and could hardly wait! When my order came, I ate it and I could totally understand why it was such a big deal to her. I asked the waiter for a recipe and he obliged to get me what he could from the chef. He came back with a bunch of ingredients scribbled on a piece of paper. I Verified them with Resha’s recipe and it was LIT! (100 flame emoji’s!!!) Once I got back to Toronto, I put this on my Christmas dinner menu and it was definitely a hit! I plan to make these whenever we entertain. I have tweaked the recipe a few times and substituted the crab with mackerel and shrimp and it was fantastic! The sauce in my recipe is also tweaked a bit to go more with the mackerel and shrimp version. Enjoy!

Crispy and spicy crab wontons deep fried to perfection to create the perfect game day food or appetizer for your event.


  • 1 seasoning cube
  • square wonton wrappers
  • oil for frying
  • salt an black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup shallots (diced)
  • 1/2oz mozzarella (shredded)
  • 1/2oz swiss (shredded)
  • 3 tablespoons panic bread crumbs
  • 8oz Cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 8oz crab meat
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chilli paste (sambal olek)
  • 1/4 cup scallions (diced)


Step 1 Place all ingredients into a bowl. combine until throughly mixed. Cover properly with cling film. place in the fridge for approx one hour or overnight.
Step 2 Bring mixture out of the fridge at least 20 minutes before frying. It helps with warm up a little bit. Heat up about 4 cups of oil in a small sauce pan or enough to create a deep fry. Place 1 teaspoon of the mixture into the middle of the wonton wraps. Use your finger to spread water across the edges. Then press all edges together to form a pocket.
Step 3 Place three-four into the sauce pan at a time. fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Keep moving them around to ensure they do not stick together.
Step 4 Drain on a paper towel and allow to stand for about a minute before eating. Caution. Very hot.
Step 5 enjoy!


  • Enjoy these with the amazing dipping sauce. The left over crab meat can be frozen and used at a latter date. I have used mine four different times and I still have enough for one more batch.
  • if you are allergic to shellfish, you can make these with chicken or pulled pork or regular fish.
