Tablescapes : Spring into Easter

Tablescapes : Spring into Easter

I love spring! It is my favourite time of the year (after christmas)! Knowing that everywhere is about to be bright and cherry after a few dull winter months makes something inside me tick with happiness. This year Easter falls in March and with the first day of spring being a few days ago I thought it was time to prepare my home for the season. I am a very big advocate of seasonal living. I love switching things up in my house to indicate the season we are in. I try to change our diet as well and include more produce that is grown in that season. It is truly a wonderful way to live! Changing out decor does not have to be expensive. I always make sure I shop my home and bring things out from storage before I head out to the shops to get anything new. Putting myself on a  strict budget of $30 I was able to use what I had and arrived at a tablescape I more than love!

I decided to go for a very bright and colourful tables cape because we plan to have brunch on Easter Sunday after church (more like lunch because Nigerian-Church). The menu is simple so i decided to make it informal by just using a dinner plate and a charger. No need for salad and dessert plates here.

My chargers are from walmart during the christmas season the plates are from my wedding registry (YASSSSS to real bone china) I have two sets in gold and silver 😀  The napkins are from Home Sense and i found a set of four for $8! SCORE! The little decor nest is from my local thrift store. I had gone there looking for a ceramic bunny of sorts but came short. Instead I left with these! Loved them! Flatware is the basic set I have from ikea. Nothing fancy! I am eyeing a gold set Online! Father be an exchange rate helper!

More details, I love details! I found the napkin rings at my local thrift store around the holiday season. and the faux leaves are from Dollarama. 😀

This beautiful runner is actually the lace that they used to cover my head at my traditional wedding. i love it so so much and I plan to convert it into pillows that would go in my office in my new house 😀 n the mean time, it worked as a beautiful runner and looks awesome on my table!  The planters are from ikea and the faux boxwoods are from dollarama as well! They only cost $2.50 each!

I wanted a lot of greenery on the table to reflect spring and I found these lovely “palm fronds” at a local store. I only wish they where more flexible but they work for what I was looking for. I used my plain glasses from ikea because any of my decorative glasses would have been too much for the look I already had. I realized I need short plain glasses.

In the end I just added a cloche with some plastic easter eggs for Dollarama and everything seemed to come together. i really really love how this turned out and I cannot wait to have Easter brunch on this table! If you have any questions, leave a comment or send me and email! I look forward to earring from you.

Till next time,
